Instant Ebook QuickStart

Let's see just how painless and easy it is to make an ebook with Instant Ebook. This screen shot is of part of a novel in (an old version of) Microsoft Word, just like one you may be writing. We need to save the file in a way that can be imported into Instant Ebook.

File save as Text Only

So, we save our Microsoft Word file as text. Note that we save it as 'Text Only' because we do not want line breaks added. Each paragraph is therefore one long line which flows down the page automatically. In the Word file the end of a paragraph is shown by a character. Our file will have line breaks there, it's just that we don't want any others.

Now that we've saved our file (i.e. novel) in a new way (we still have the original Word format file) we can start up Instant Ebook and feed it this new file.

This is the screen you will see when you first start Instant Ebook. Looks simple, doesn't it? That's because it is! There are just two steps. First you choose the text file that you want to make into an ebook. That can be the text file we've just created, or another suitable one. To do that click on theOne Button number one (top) icon at the left hand side of the screen, the one with the number one on it. You'll get the familiar 'pick a file' Windows dialogue. Once you choose the file that you want Instant Ebook is now ready for the ebook creation stage. You will notice in the next screenshot below that the display has changed slightly to reflect the title of the book and the author's name.

File has been chosen

If you want to edit the way these will appear in the ebook you can do so now, by typing in the two boxes shown, otherwise they can be left as they are.

OK, let's create the ebook!

To do that you click on the middle icon on the left of the screen, Two Buttonthe one with the number two on it.

And that's it! Now you have an ebook ready to publish on Amazon, share with friends and family, or give away on the internet.

Mag Glass Button

At this point, if you have Kindle Previewer installed on your computer, you can see what your ebook will look like on all sorts of Kindle devices. Just click on the small icon below the one you just clicked on, the one with the magnifying glass on it.

This will show you the ebook you have just created, displayed in Kindle Previewer.

The example above is an ebook of 'Middlemarch' by George Eliot created by Instant Ebook. The paragraph format is our preferred style though this can be changed if wished.

X ButtonOnce you've admired your work, all that's left to do is click on the final icon at the left of the screen, the one with the big X on it. That will end the Instant Ebook program (you'll be asked if you really want to exit). You can, of course, repeat the ebook creation process as many times as you like before exiting.

Now that's simple ebook creation! Try Instant Ebook now entirely free. Enjoy your writing and enjoy your ebook creation!
